The full arc of Mughal Agra over two to three days. The Taj Mahal — the people who built it and the woman it was built for, the grief and power tangled into it. Agra Fort and the lives held inside it, down to the emperor kept there looking downstream at the tomb. Itmad-ud-Daula, the jewel box a daughter raised for her father. Fatehpur Sikri, the capital Akbar built and abandoned. An old-city walk through Akbarabad, where the weavers and traders still work. Mehtab Bagh at dusk, and a dinner in a village home. Led throughout by an artist and storyteller from Agra, not a monument guide.

How it unfolds

1. Day 1 — the Taj Mahal (Making of a Wonder), then Itmad-ud-Daula the riverside jewel box, then the Taj again from Mehtab Bagh at sunset.
2. Day 2 — Agra Fort, the court’s real seat of power; then the Agra Old City Walk through the lanes, trades and food behind the monuments; then Grameen Bhojanam, a seasonal dinner in a village home.
3. Day 3, half day — Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s capital built and abandoned within twenty years, 40 km out and still almost intact.
4. The three days can be compressed into two for a group that wants to move quickly.
